Technical support
POSITION FUNCTIONS:
• Perform network installations, upgrade migrations and infrastructure maintenance on exiting projects and
be able to trouble shoot issues in fast past environment
• Perform complex installations, moves, adds, changes and disposals of computer server and network
equipment
• Perform troubleshooting to determine and resolve the root cause of many hardware or system software
malfunctions at the desktop and server level
• Perform warranty and non-warranty repairs to server and networking equipment
• Assist other technicians in resolving hardware and software issues
• Outsourcing to clients a possibility
• Be available for regular work assignments during evenings and weekends or out of town
• Part of the afterhours on-call rotation
• Be able to create and maintain Standard Operation Procedures and Infrastructure Documentation as
required.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
• College or University education in Electronics or Computer Science
• MCSA and CCNA certifications
• Proven ability to perform server and NOS installations in a production environment. Over eight years of
related job experience or equivalent
• Vendor hardware certifications (HP/Compaq, IBM)
• Must have a valid driver’s license, vehicle and insurance
• Superior written and verbal communication skills
• A sense of urgency to complete tasks and assignments
• Strong ability to diffuse tense customer situations and project a positive, confident outlook
• Ability to transfer knowledge and experiences to other technicians
• High level of integrity and honesty
• Ability to take direction and follow practices and procedures consistently and accurately
• Ability to develop and implement best practices
• Superior time management skills
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 40lbs. on a regular basis
